The Countdown

We are officially counting down the days until Daddy arrives. Four days or less!
Layla painted a sign to hang on the door. It was supposed to be nice little handprints in red, blue and yellow, but turned into a globbed and streaked mess, along with her body. I learned my lesson - 14 month olds aren't allowed to paint.

Layla loves talking on the phone now. She's said "hi" to Oma a couple of times. Usually she waves. She obviously doesn't understand the limitations of the phone.

And, in bigger news, she's walked across the living room by herself a couple of times. It takes a lot of coaxing, but we usually find a time during the day to practice and she cooperates. I'm not sure why she doesn't try more often. She gets very excited when she does it.

So, that's the news. Just waiting for the fun to begin. We've got some things planned to do with Daddy, like the zoo and Playmobil funpark. He needs to experience the joys of toddlerhood.
