We're trying patch therapy to strengthen the connection with the bad eye. So, Layla has to wear a patch 2 hours a day until her next appointment in March to check for progress. If this doesn't fix the problem, there is surgery, but we're hoping it doesn't come to that.

Call Me "Patchies"
Layla went to a pediatric eye specialist on Monday. I've noticed that her right eye drifts out to the side sometimes. It's gotten worse over the last few months, so her pediatrician referred her to a Dr. in Ft. Worth. She has Amblyopia, which is a problem with how the brain understands visual information the eye is sending, therefore causing the brain to rely on one eye and ignore the other. This is what causes the eye to drift, or "lazy eye".
