4 Months

On Tuesday, Layla turned 4 months old! She went to the Dr. for her check up. She is now 25 inches long (90%) and 11 lbs 12.5 oz (25%). Yes, she is loooong and skinny, much like her mommy was as a baby. The Dr. said she was healthy and getting enough milk, but I could choose to start her on rice cereal if I wanted. She doesn't want her to fall below the 25th percentile, because it would be cause for concern. We went to the grocery store that day and got her cereal. Of course, feeding this baby cereal sounded like a lot of fun, and I wanted to put a little more meat on her bones. Well, let's just say Layla loved eating her cereal. She sat in her new Bumbo chair and sucked on the spoon. Most of the time she wanted to hold the spoon or the cup of cereal herself. Needless to say, we had a HUGE mess, and Layla had to take a bath afterwards. The next day was much cleaner.

She has gotten much better at eating off the spoon and is thoroughly enjoying her meal, but it is causing excess gas. This baby stinks!! I wouldn't be concerned except it sometimes makes her fussy. I think she's uncomfortable sometimes, and I give her gas drops. I'm going to hold off on any more cereal for a while to let her digestive system mature some more. Oh well, it did make for a fun week.
