Busy Days

Wow! So much has happened since my last post. First of all, Layla celebrated her first 4th of July. We barbequed and had family over. We spent the day talking and swimming in the lake. For fireworks, we took the pontoon boat out to watch the city display over the water. Then, we came back and shot off our own fireworks in the backyard. Of course Layla was sound asleep by this point, but she did watch the show while we sat on the boat. It was a fun day.
Layla gave us a big scare one night. We had given her a bottle of formula, which she only gets every great once in a while. I laid with her on the hammock that afternoon, when she started wretching and vomited. I managed to catch a big pool of formula in my hands. After getting her cleaned up, she vomited again. Three clothes changes later, she lay naked on my bed. She never fussed or cried, but laid limp and lifeless on the bed. It was the most pitiful sight. I nursed her, which she kept down, and that made us feel better. She slept beside me all night and was her usual happy self come morning. I'm not sure what caused the problem, but it's awful to watch your baby sick and exhausted.
Layla is now a pro at holding her head up while on her tummy. She never liked tummy time, but lately she's gotten so strong. She's now more interested in toys and things around her. Sometimes I see her intentionally bat at a toy. She's much more aware of what's going on and likes to be a part of the action. Our little girl is growing up!
