Hmmm. We have so much to do these days that actually sitting down, getting my thoughts together, blogging and uploading pics seems like too much of a task. I'll probably forget a few things, but I'll start in January with the stock show. Jonathan and I took Layla. She enjoyed the petting zoo, then to my surprise LOVED the rides on the midway. Not 6 months ago, she was scared to death to ride in a Big Red Car that went in a circle at the Wiggles World in Fiesta Texas. At the stock show she rode several different rides, her favorite being a small roller coaster that Daddy had to ride with her three times. She smiled and laughed and even put her hands up in the air. She is her Mommy's girl. (By the way, she also loves pickles, black olives and deviled eggs, which are all some of Mommy's favorites.)
At the beginning of February we of course had the infamous snow storm that kept us house bound for 3-4 days. Unlike last year, Layla loved the snow. She thought it was hilarious to throw snowballs at us and played for long stints, undeterred by the cold.
Also in February, Layla finally ended up having eye surgery. She's been seeing an eye specialist since she was 9 months old and we've been doing series of patching on one or both eyes. Her eyes didn't always stay aligned, so she was choosing one eye to focus in certain situaions and letting the other drift. So, the surgery consisted of moving the muscles on the outsides of both eyes to achieve alignment. As of her follow-up appointment last week, they are looking perfect! This is a pic the day of her surgery after we got home. The surgery did not slow her down one bit.
O.k., I'm gonna go ahead and post this much, because it's been sitting open on my computer for three days now. I did take a pic of my twin belly, so I'll get that in the next post along with any news from the ultrasound on Monday and Layla's birthday party this weekend, which will also show Layla's new haircut.
