Birthday/Easter

We had a full weekend. We had Layla's birthday party on Saturday at our house. We went with an Elmo theme, which Layla loved. She really had the hang of opening presents. She smiled proudly as everyone sang "Happy Birthday", then blew out the candle like she'd done it a hundred times before. It was too cute, til she promptly tried to take a bite out of the candle and burned her lip.

After church on Sunday, we went to Oma and Pa's house for Easter dinner (lunch) and Layla and Cason hunted Easter eggs. It was amazing how they both picked up on that very quickly. We fretted over what we could hide in the eggs for weeks, since neither kid gets chocolate and candies. Turns out, they didn't care what was in the eggs. Once the finding was over, they were done. It was a beautiful day and it was nice to spend it outside with our family.

It's been so beautiful and warm this week, yet pretty windy. Today I decided to embrace the wind and bought a kite at the store. We'll try it this weekend and let you know if Momma can figure out how to fly a kite.
