Our area was surprised with the most snow we've seen in my lifetime. We got well over a foot of snow last Thursday. It sure caused some excitement around here with kids getting out of school, building snowmen, sliding down driveways on inner tubes and snowball fights. Jonathan was in St. Louis for work that week, so he sadly missed all the fun. Layla didn't think the snow was all that fun. She doesn't have snow attire, or even a pair of boots, so when the snow came up over her tennis shoes, she wasn't a happy camper.

Layla is getting so smart, funny and stubborn. She can count to ten, when she's in the mood. She sings "Twinkle, twinkle little star" very well. She can sing her ABC's pretty well. New words crop up in her vocabulary everyday, and she loves reading her books. She also makes up her own songs and comes up with silly faces to make me laugh. She now climbs up in her high chair on her own and is doing fairly well drinking from a cup. She'll eat just about anything except peanut butter. We have a struggle every night to put on her pajamas. She wants to go naked, but it's just too cold. She also fights me on brushing her teeth and clipping fingernails. She will brush her own teeth, but that consists of sucking the toothpaste off then chewing on the brush for a while. She is getting two more teeth right now on the bottom. Oh, we also have diaper change issues. She does not want to change her diaper anymore, and I'm looking forward to potty training this summer.
Here are some random fun pics.

This past weekend, Jonathan's mother, Gramma, was in town. We were able to spend time with her and Aunt Pam. On Valentines' Day we went to the Dallas World Aquarium. It was the coolest aquarium I've seen, and they had a lot of different animals you don't usually see. Layla had a good time running around looking at the animals.

So, that's the past month in a nutshell. Over the next month I'll be getting ready for Layla's 2nd birthday! There are party supplies and presents to buy and portraits to be taken. WooHoo! Plus, I can't wait for some warmer weather. Here's to spring!
