What a Month

I don't even know where I left off. But I can tell you that we are now HOMEOWNERS!! That closing process is a doozy, but as of Friday the 13th (yikes!) everything was finished. We got our keys on saturday, then started working. We changed the locks and all door hardware throughout the house. We have painters working right now and should be finished this next week. We have carpet coming the week after Thanksgiving. It's been a learn as you go week. We have so many things we want to change or improve upon, but it's important to remember we're going to have this house for many years. We haven't lived anywhere for more than 2 1/2 years, so it's hard to lose that mindset of hurrying to get everything perfect or just sucking it up cause you'll be moving soon enough.
Our household goods have made it to Fort Worth from Germany, and we're hoping to move in the week after Thanksgiving. Our car also made it back from Germany, but we haven't picked it up yet.
We also made a quick decision to fly to California for the week of Thanksgiving. We'll be leaving on Tuesday. We're excited for Jonathan's family to see Layla. It's been just over a year since we were last there, and she's changed so much. She couldn't even sit up on her own last visit, and now...well...she's a handful.
