Willingen

This past weekend Jonathan's unit set up a retreat/ball in Willingen, Germany. It's a small ski village north of Frankfurt, and it is beautiful. We stayed at an awesome hotel with so many extras we didn't get to see them all. We did a bit of walking around and taking in the gorgeous sites, tried out the indoor waterpark, rode the rodelbahn and attended the ball in the midst of it all. It was a nice, relaxing weekend, and Jonathan got to try out the new lenses he bought for the camera. So, thanks to him, we have tons of beautiful pictures, but hardly any with him in them. That's something we'll be working on.
We found a momma and her ducklings and for a few wheatables they surrounded us.

Layla and Mommy on the big slide.

The kiddie area had a cave atmosphere with gushing water, sprayers, a waterfall, a slide and a tube to climb through.

I think she enjoyed every part of it.

She has so many expressions that it's hard to describe. Daddy did a good job catching some of her character as she persistently walked back and forth across this bridge.

Sometimes she's just as sweet as can be.

The last part of the trip before heading home was the sommer rodelbahn. You can find these things all over Germany. They are luge-like rides going down a hill. Everyone is free to go as slow or fast as you want and has a hand brake to keep from hitting people in front of you. It was a neat way to end the trip.
