Rough Night

I awoke at about 3:30 last night feeling very uncomfortable. I've had some Braxton Hicks contractions before, and they weren't near this painful. My stomach hurt and I had a brief nauseous spell. I couldn't lay in bed any longer, so I got up to get a drink of water. Then, I started really hurting. It felt like when you have an upset stomach with really bad gas pains. I started thinking about what I had ate and tried to convince myself that was the problem. I tried everything to relieve the pain that was coming in waves. I rocked on my pilates ball, got on my hands and knees for pelvic rocks and (when that didn't work) paced the living room floor trying to decide which neighbor I should wake up at 4:30, just in case. When the pain would let up, Layla would move around and resettle. Turns out, the pacing seemed to help and I was able to lay back down around 5:00.
I will feel so much relief when Jonathan comes home (monday or tuesday). I vowed last night to pack my hospital bag today, so I'll at least have some clothes and my paperwork ready to go. Maybe this was God's way of scaring me into getting my butt in gear and getting things ready. Who knows...maybe she won't wait another 26 days! (as long as she waits another 3)
