Halloween Fun

It's fun to see Layla starting to understand how things work and get excited about holidays. We bought her Halloween costume a few weeks ago, and she's put it on and wore it around the house many days. She loves dress up. She stands in front of the three-way mirror in our room and dances around. In case you can't tell, she's a peacock.

On Saturday, we went to Burleson and carved pumpkins with Cason and Aunt Summer. Actually, Mommy and Aunt Summer carved pumpkins while Cason and Layla played. Then we put on their costumes and took them downtown to Boo Bash. It was sooo crowded, so we didn't stay long. On Halloween, I took her trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Once she saw how it worked, she ran from house to house saying, "this door". She would ring the doorbell and dance happily when someone came to the door with candy. She had some trouble remembering to say "trick-or-treat", but she always said "thank you" and "bye". In about 45 minutes she had a purse so full of candy she was dragging it on the ground. When home, she tore off her costume and ran to show Daddy all her candy.

She ate a sucker and watched the World Series with Daddy while I handed out candy. What an exciting night for a little girl!
