For those of you who might be wondering, we made the move back to Germany last week. So, it's been a week of no internet, no phone, tons of errands to run, apartment to clean and sleeping schedules WAY off. A 7 hour time difference is quite the challenge to overcome for a 13 month old, although, I think she's almost there. She had a 9:00pm to 9:00am sleep last night, so if I can just bump that up 30 min to an hour, things will be good.
Layla did fantastic on the plane ride over. After a rather rocky start to the trip-don't get me started on KLM's check in and employee's lack of ability to assert power over a computer system-Layla had a fairly enjoyable flight. She only slept for 1 hour on the first flight to Amsterdam, then about 20 minutes in the backpack carrier as we hiked across Schipol airport, then another 15 minutes on the drive from the Nuremberg airport. She was so tired when we got to the apt, she couldn't even hold her head up without her eyes closing and falling over.
Despite the sleep issues, we've gotten a lot of things accomplished. We even took some time yesterday to go into the town and walk around and do some shopping. Layla loves being out and about. She got plenty of smiles and had all the germans talking to her. She smiled like she knew exactly what they were saying. Sometimes that's what I do.
I haven't gotten around to taking any pictures this week. Layla did meet and play with a friend's little girl. Her and Layla are only 6 weeks apart, and it was fun to see them interact. She was pulling off pieces of pizza and feeding them to Layla, which was cute. I'll put up some pics when I decide to stop being lazy and take some.
